Premier Plant Producers has been using Passfield since November 2004 and traceability has been one of the key benefits. The batch numbers (which are allocated at the point an order is placed) can be traced throughout the processes on the nursery as well as the transport and invoicing systems in the office. Premier Plant Producers’ customers can quote these batch numbers from delivery notes, order acknowledgements or invoices received from Premier relating to their orders.
Premier Plant Producers also uses Passfield’s interactive mapping feature, so they can view the location of every batch at a glance. A simple drag and click of the mouse and a batch can be moved to a new location on the map – all batch records and orders are automatically updated, and the moves for the day can be printed as a worksheet for the nursery staff.
The movement sheet is a revelation whereby the Passfield system automatically lists the plant varieties in the correct order to be picked up by the robots on the nursery. For a nursery dealing with such a high order turnover as Premier Plants, this is a huge time-saver.
