Majestic Trees

Majestic Trees is one of the leading sellers of semi-mature containerized trees in the UK and has been using Passfield since October 2004. Passfield handles their entire transaction process, from purchasing to selling, including automated back-to-back ordering and customised pricing. “This means we’re able to work as a team and communicate with each other clearly throughout the process” says Christina Jones, Marketing Manager.
As an example, she quotes the flexibility of adding notes to orders. “We are able to put notes to the customer on the order confirmation, instructions for the planting team on the delivery note, and also keep a complete private record of all correspondence we have had with the customer.
“The latest, powerful, notation feature we have mastered, however, is the ability to attach notes at sales line level. For instance, on the customer’s order confirmation, we can add a line underneath each item to help them decipher the Latin – such as under Cedrus deodara we can add ‘screening evergreen for back garden’. On the in-house print-out, we can instead print private notes for the pickers, such as ‘prune for shape prior to loading’. It has improved both our customer service and our efficiency a great deal”.
Passfield has also helped Majestic Trees speed up turnaround on quotes. As Jones explains, “People can ring up now and ask, “How much might it cost for two birches 20 feet high?” At a glance we’re now able to see all the costs involved, from machine hire to labour, and give an immediate quote on the phone. Before, it would have taken a day just to calculate the costs and give a ball-park figure – by which time the client could have gone to four or five other nurseries.”
